Since our family was made possible by adoption, this has become one of my favorite topics.
My wife was adopted when she was a baby. We always wanted to adopt, but after several miscarraiges we decided to start the adoption process sooner than expected. We are very glad we did. We adopted through LDS Family Services. After about 1 year waiting, we finally recieved word of a pending adoption. We purchased clothing for our soon-to-be baby girl. Unfortunately for us, the birth mother decided to keep the baby, so we were heartbroken again.
We waited about another year and recieved another phone call from the agency. This time, we didn't have time to purchase much of anything. Three days later, we were in Detroit holding our little boy. As you can see he was prematrue (as were all the boys) and very tiny--2 lbs. 10 oz.
He was in the NICU for a month.
They are all within 3 1/2 years of each other.
They are the best of friends....
....and super heroes.
