Romans Chapter 8--Selected Verses

I had been thinking on this chapter a little earlier today so I thought I would include some of my favorite verses from it.

16The Spirit itself beareth awitness with our bspirit, that we are the cchildren of God:

17And if children, then heirs; aheirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we bsuffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

18For I reckon that the asufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the bglory which shall be revealed cin us.

26Likewise the Spirit also ahelpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should bpray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh cintercession for us with dgroanings which cannot be uttered.

28And we know that all things work together for agood to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

31What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can abe against us?

35Who shall separate us from the alove of Christ? shall btribulation, or distress, or cpersecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

38For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

39Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to aseparate us from the blove of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

An Apostle's Easter Thoughts on Christ

I wanted to post this message--especially at this time of year.  I love my Savior and what he has done for me--and what he continues to do for me.  I know that he died on the cross for all mankind and that it is only through Him that we are saved.  I rejoice in knowing that He was resurrected on the 3rd Day--and that as a result, each of us will also be resurrected.  He broke the bands of death and in him "Death has no sting".  Through him, hell's power has no power.  I love Easter!

New Tab Added--Mind, Body, and Spirit

I've added a new tab dedicated to the mind, body, and spirit.  As with most of my other tabs, this is still a work in progress, but I thought it was good enough to post for now until I can get back to it.  I've wondered how I might add to any of these pages in the future without making each tab too long and laborious.  I think I still have room to add to some of these tabs, but when they get to a certain length, I'll probably just amend them through regular posts, but the post titles wil signify which tab they should be added to.

Mormon Church Humanitarian Efforts Review

I love this.  This particular one is a little old, but the message is still good.  The last General Conference we were reminded to continue in these efforts and to assist the poor and needy.  This is something that I have taken very seriously.  I love the Church's efforts in humanitarian work around the world and I am glad to be a part of it through my donations.  Lisa and I particularly like the efforts of the perpetual education fund--assisting those in third world countries obtain a higher education.

Come What May & Love It

This is another great message.  This is particularly an important reminder to me right now because I am still searching for full time employment.  It's been several months now and still nothing.  It has been a trial for us, and finances are tight.  But, I keep thinking back on the way we were directed back to Utah.  I believe we were directed to return to Utah, but without work it has been a little frustrating.  However, I know we have been blessed since we've been here.  I've seen great blessings in our lives already.  Sometimes we get impatient with the lack of job prospects, but I just need to remember this message: "Come What May and Love It".  The Lord has not abandoned me yet, and I don't think He will start now--as long as I don't abandon Him.  Lives change, we have our bumps and valleys, but He is always there and concerned for our well being.
